Customer Review: How to improve the seal.

The flat silicone seal rings on our 3 (heritage) jars each had two tiny airholes. Which I covered up with two teeny 1/4 inch squares of common ol' Scotch 3M magic transparent tape. On the side of the ring facing the lid of course.
I'm guessing Pfalzgraff put the holes in there to equalize the air pressure. To prevent airlocks while driving up the mountain with Grandma's Christmas cookies.
With those holes blocked, air pressure increases the force necessary to lift the lids: whoosh!
